As we said in our last blog, 2021 was a turbulent year for Team Swannay. We do however now feel that the team is the strongest it’s been and like we also said in our last blog we have some big goals for 2022.
To achieve these goals we need more people and we’re looking for the first two right now.
Brewery Assistant (full-time)
In 2021 we made half as much beer as we did in 2019. In 2022 we need to make a whole lot more - double as much as 2021 would be great. To do that we need initially one more person to help us out in the brewery.
This role is entry level but has great potential to progress. Making beer is one thing but all the supporting tasks are equally important - this brewery assistant position will mostly be taking responsibility for these supportive tasks. Such as, but not limited to:
Cask washing & filling
Keg washing and filling
Working on the canning line
Preparing and making deliveries
We always write this in our job descriptions: making beer at Swannay is not easy and is hard work. A passion for beer, and all the intricacies of making it, go a long way.
This means the right candidate will have: a positive attitude and a desire to solve problems; a flexible approach to their work; a very keen eye for detail; meticulous focus on cleaning, hygiene and keeping our paperwork systems up to date.
Office Administrator (part-time)
Making more beer is one thing but - much like the brewery assistant role - more beer requires more supportive admin. This role is doubly exciting (if offices are your sort of thing) as you’ll be moving straight into our brand new office space - your desk, PC and maybe even chair will be brand new.
This is a part time role to support and add flexibility to the existing office team. Within reason, working hours can be based around other commitments. There will be possibility, but no obligation, for the job to be made full time in the future.
Tasks will include all general office duties as well as more specific tasks related to our (ever increasing) brewery management systems. Nearly all of our systems are cloud-based so a high degree of computer literacy is a must.
As we progress to completion on our much protracted building project, we will soon be opening a bigger shop as well as a visitor centre and cafe. There will be opportunity for the office team to have an involvement in these developments.
For more information on either of these rolls please email email@example.com with the job title in the description.
Closing date for applications: 18 Feb 2022 (extended from 11 Feb)
