GOLD AT THE INTERNATIONAL BREWING AWARDS

We are thrilled and humbled that our New England Pale Ale You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know (YDK) has won gold in its category at the 2026 International Brewing Awards.

Widely regarded as the “Oscars of the brewing world” the competition is judged solely by practising professional brewers and evaluates the beers based on their production and commercial merit, so awards really are high praise. Entries come from around the world and awards are going to breweries in countries including Japan, Germany, Sweden and, of course, Scotland. 

YDK is a 5.5% hazy pale that packs a punch with bold aromas and flavours from the American and New Zealand hops.

Rob Hill started Swannay Brewery with the goal of making world class Orkney beers and this result is testament that we are still doing that. It’s amazing to be holding our own against global macro breweries who clearly make technically excellent beers. 

YDK is now in the running for the overall trophy which will be announced in London at the awards ceremony in May.
