March 2022 update (15% off award winning beers + a new lager)
As the clocks spring forward and we move into another season, we've been lucky enough to enjoy some sunshine and calm weather here in Orkney. There's been little time for relaxing at the brewery however, as we near the end of the current building project and have been getting the brewing ramped up for what will be an important and pivotal year. Let's have a quick run-down of some of the things that have have been happening at Swannay.
First up, we were really pleased to win another couple of SIBA awards, this time in the Scotland keg competition.
Merry Dancer is a session pale ale, so perfect for this time of year, and it recently walked away with gold in the British Bitters category. With a balance of home-grown UK pale malt and fruity hops from New Zealand and North America, it's tasting amazing right now. To celebrate the win we are offering 15% off this beer for one week!

Also in awards news, our new Viking-era strong bitter E.S.Bere picked up a silver in the Premium Bitters category, which is fantastic given how well-received our revamped Bere barley range has been. We couldn't be happier. Again, to celebrate the win we are offering 15% off this beer for one week!

OLA
Next up, something brand new, and something that is not quite ready yet! We've thought about it for a long time and in part because the weather is getting better we feel this is the perfect time to brew a LAGER!
Coming soon: Ola - Orkney Lager from Swannay.
The first batch is maturing in tank now, taking its time. Brewed with lager malt, lager yeast and Czech hops, it will be a refreshingly dry and hugely drinkable lager.
We will be bringing you a special blog post when the beer is launched and we hope you will be able to find Ola in keg somewhere close to you soon!
The Swannay Survey
